Quicken Qdf File Corrupted Or Unreadable
It appears all my data is corrupted beyond repair. What's the best way to start over with a clean data file? Is there any way to salvage what I've got? I have 18 current accounts with along with a dozen closed and hidden accounts, and 10+ years of investment history. For the last year or so I have repeatedly had connectivity problems with express web connect. I've reset the accounts, deactivated the connection and then reactivated.
Sometimes all will go back to working for a month or two and then I start having persistent connectivity issues. Often times I'm presented with multiple temp_* accounts. I've done validations and super-validations. Tried copying the file etc. I get 'QDF: Damaged data record' for my current file as well as all backups from the last seven years!

Temporarily disable your Antivirus software for the entire duration of the next step: Install (run) the downloaded patch file. This will replace any Quicken software modules with a known consistent release level and, hopefully, eliminate any software corruption or errors during installation as a cause of this issue. Since there isn't a way that I'm aware of to unload the entire QDF to some 'unload format' (minus any corrupted data records), and then reload that into a new, blank QDF the only way may be to start completely from scratch: Click File / New Quicken File and start over with adding accounts and transactions. EWC connection problems: If you have to go through a deactivate / reactivate cycle, you should always deactivate all accounts at this bank, including any old, long closed, hidden accounts that are still activated for downloading. Only when you deactivate all EWC-connected accounts will the Quicken download server involved in the EWC process be able to start from scratch, without old previously downloaded data getting in the way.
